Our speed limiter solution files are developed from the original read you supply, for tuning businesses working on vehicles used on track, off-road, in motorsport or exported to markets where the change is lawful.
Before Changing A Limiter
- Check whether the vehicle is legally required to be speed limited
- Confirm tyre speed ratings support the new top speed
- Consider brakes, cooling and drivetrain for sustained high speed
- Check whether the gearbox (TCU) or another module also limits speed
What To Send
- The original, unmodified ECU read (full read where your tool supports it)
- Vehicle make, model, engine code and year
- ECU type and software version where known
- The tool and read method used (master or slave, bench or OBD)
- The exact solution required and any related fault codes
- The current limit and the requested new limit
- Tyre size and speed rating
Compatibility
On some vehicles the limit is also enforced by the transmission, the ABS / stability control or the instrument cluster, which an engine ECU file alone cannot change. Compatibility is confirmed per file.
Limitations
- Not every ECU or software version can be supported
- Files are not supplied for vehicles legally required to be limited when used on public roads
- Other modules may still limit speed
- The new limit must suit the vehicle's tyres and hardware

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can you change the speed limiter on a truck or HGV?
- Not where the vehicle is legally required to be limited and used on public roads. Speed limiter files are only supplied where the change is lawful for the vehicle's intended use, and a track, off-road or export label does not by itself make it legal.
- Why does the vehicle still stop at the old limit?
- Another module, such as the gearbox or stability control, may also enforce a limit. Support can advise once they have the vehicle details.
