Where a catalyst has been removed or replaced with a high-flow unit for competition use, the downstream sensor will usually report catalyst efficiency faults. Our O2 / lambda solution files are developed from the original read you supply so the ECU matches the hardware fitted.
Typical Situations
The upstream sensor is essential for correct fuelling on most petrol engines and should remain active. A failed sensor should be replaced rather than disabled.
- Catalyst efficiency faults after a decat or high-flow catalyst
- Downstream (post-cat) sensor monitoring after exhaust changes
- Sensor heater faults where the sensor has been removed
What To Send
- The original, unmodified ECU read (full read where your tool supports it)
- Vehicle make, model, engine code and year
- ECU type and software version where known
- The tool and read method used (master or slave, bench or OBD)
- The exact solution required and any related fault codes
- Full exhaust specification, including catalyst and downpipe changes
Compatibility
Lambda and catalyst monitoring strategies differ between petrol and diesel engines and between manufacturers. Some vehicles have more than one catalyst and several downstream sensors. Compatibility is confirmed per file.
Limitations
- Not every ECU or software version can be supported
- Removing a catalyst will normally cause the vehicle to fail emissions testing
- Upstream fuelling sensors should remain active
- Files are not supplied for vehicles intended for public road use
Pricing
Trade prices are shown in the customer portal once you register. Supported delete options are included in the file price and there is no minimum order. Where a solution can be combined with a Stage 1 or Stage 2 calibration on the same ECU, it can be requested in the same file.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is a decat or O2 solution legal for road use?
- No, in many countries removing a catalyst from a road vehicle is illegal. Files are only supplied for off-road, motorsport or export use where that use is lawful, and an off-road or export label does not by itself make the work legal. The ordering business is responsible for confirming compliance.
- Can this be combined with a Stage 2 file?
- Yes, where supported. Declare the full exhaust specification so the calibration and monitoring changes match the hardware.
